What’s WRAP?

A new charity venture supporting the people of Hawkhurst and its neighbours

Weald Rural Activities Partnership (WRAP) is a partnership between two local charities – Sound Architect/ENGAge and Hawkhurst Community Hospital League of Friends.

Three different schemes are run at our Grove Mills site every week:

WRAP Day Opportunities
We offer friendship, company, social activities and a freshly cooked lunch to older and disabled people. Open Mondays and Wednesdays, 9.30am to 3.30pm.

WRAP Dementia Support
We run a dedicated service offering companionship and support to people of all ages across the whole dementia spectrum. Open Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9.30am to 3.30pm with lunch included.

WRAP Short Courses for over-50s
Hundreds of people have learnt a new skill or rediscovered an old hobby with our programme of well-attended short courses. With topics designed to suit a wide range of interests, you can view what’s on here.

What makes WRAP different for day visitors
Whether you simply want to relax with a cup of tea and your favourite newspaper or if you prefer to get stuck in with some of our social activities, it’s our firm belief that everyone who comes to WRAP should decide for themselves how they want to spend their day.

This chart is a good illustration of how flexible a typical day at Grove Mills can be.

Because we also run short courses at Grove Mills, we like to open these up to our day visitors too. So if your visit coincides on a day when you also like the sound of our short course, then you can join in for no additional charge. Take a look at what sort of courses we run here.
