Weald Rural Activities Project (WRAP) is a newly registered charity, (Reg no. 1153968) which offers four services: a day club with activities for older, isolated or disabled people; specialised dementia care for those of all ages; a variety of IT Courses in our computer suite; and manages a mobile youth centre, the Street Cruizer.
The charitable purposes of the organisation are to promote and advance the health and welfare of persons in need, by reason of age or ill health, to promote health and wellbeing in the community at large and to provide educational and recreational facilities in the interests of social welfare with the aim of improving the conditions of life for persons residing in or around Hawkhurst. This is achieved by offering:
(A) Specialist day care for those of all ages, suffering with problems of memory loss and dementia.
(B) A Day club facility, offering companionship and activities for the older person.
(C) A mobile youth centre which can travel to Hawkhurst and the neighbouring parishes, which provides information and support for young people.
(D) Educational courses including such things as Information Technology skills, as well as more creative skills.
(E) More general activities, such as Tia Chi, for the purposes of promoting improved health.
